This is a very inspiring story about the world’s oldest cyclist, Harry Rogers.
By the young age of 31, he was a world-class cyclist. He rose to fame after smashing the record for the fastest cycling speed in what’s known as the world’s most prestigious and difficult bicycle race, Tour de France.
With his career at its peak, life seemed to be good. He would even take his kids out biking every weekend as a family activity.
Then one unfortunate day, a drive back home with his sons took a turn for the worst. Their car rammed into the back of a large trailer instantly killing both his children.
However, he miraculously survived the crash. Although he narrowly cheated death, the doctor said he would NEVER cycle again because of the injuries he sustained from the accident. This sank him into a deep state of depression.
Cycling was their favourite family pastime. He couldn’t bear to let go of the only remaining thing that gave his life purpose so he made a promise to himself on live TV.
